Phenix City Intermediate School, along with nearby Phenix City Elementary School, was placed on lockdown Friday morning following a reported security concern that prompted a large police response.

Authorities confirmed that multiple units from the Phenix City Police Department were deployed to the schools, where they established a perimeter, monitored entrances, and worked alongside school officials to assess the credibility of the threat.
